Yasmeen Kwan

Yasmeen is an undergraduate studying painting for a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Through a Western lens, they investigate the desire for otherness that orientalizes and fetishizes the Black American body and East Asian culture. Yasmeen combines personal and gathered experiences with historical references and nuances in contemporary trends to break down the tensions between the marginalized two.
